First thing’s first - you don’t have to be a member of the Essex Police family to join our society! We have members of all ages and from all different walks of life - you only have to be over 16 and eager to get involved to be able to join!
We rehearse on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Police HQ in Chelmsford, and we usually put on two shows per year - our main production in Spring and a concert in Autumn. New members do not need to audition to be part of a show, however some roles will be subject to auditions. As a police society, we are very accommodating of shift workers, and can usually be flexible around a rehearsal schedule when needed.
Not everyone is interested in the spotlight, and no production would be possible without a production team. So if your talents lie behind the scenes, such as back-stage, lighting and sound, costumes, scenery art or even directing and choreography, then we are always happy to hear from you.
FEES
The annual membership fee is £30, payable 1st June
A show fee of £20 is payable per performance that you take part in
There is a one off joining fee of £10
All new members will need to undergo a basic vetting process
